Funding & Childcare Support

Making quality childcare affordable

We understand that childcare can be a significant expense. We offer funded places for eligible families, helping children access high-quality early education while supporting parents with the cost. If you’re eligible, funded hours are deducted directly from your fees.

15 hours for eligible 2 year-olds

Some 2 year-olds qualify for 15 funded hours a week in term time, decided by your local authority. Your family may be eligible if you receive certain benefits, such as Universal Credit, Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, or Child and Working Tax Credits (income limits apply).

  • Up to 15 hours per week
  • Up to 570 hours per year
  • Available during term time

15 hours for all 3 & 4 year-olds

Every child aged 3 and 4 is entitled to 15 funded hours a week, available to all families regardless of income. No eligibility check needed.

  • Up to 15 hours per week
  • Up to 570 hours per year
  • Available during term time

30 hours for working families

Eligible working parents of 3 and 4 year-olds can claim an extra 15 hours, for up to 30 funded hours a week. You’ll need to meet HMRC criteria, apply through the government childcare service and reconfirm every three months.

  • Up to 30 hours per week
  • Up to 1,140 hours per year
  • Available during term time

What funded hours include

  • High-quality early education
  • Learning and development activities
  • Access to the full EYFS curriculum
  • Indoor and outdoor learning experiences
  • Support from qualified early years practitioners

Additional charges

Funded hours cover your child’s education and care during funded sessions. Some services sit outside government funding and may be charged separately:

  • Meals and snacks
  • Special outings and trips
  • Additional hours outside funded sessions
  • Optional extra activities

A full breakdown of any additional charges is available on request.

Extra Support

Additional funding for families who need it

Beyond the standard funded hours, further support may be available for your child.

Disability Access Fund (DAF)

For children who receive Disability Living Allowance and a funded early education place. DAF helps us make reasonable adjustments and provide extra resources for your child’s individual needs. If your child receives DLA, please speak to our management team.

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

Extra funding to support the learning and development of eligible children, used for additional resources, language and communication support, targeted help and enhanced learning opportunities. Our team will help check whether your child qualifies.

SEND support funding

We’re committed to an inclusive setting for every child. Support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities can include individual support plans, SENCo involvement, referrals to external professionals and additional inclusion funding where appropriate.

Tax-Free Childcare

Save on fees the funding doesn’t cover

Many working families save through the government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme. For every £8 you pay into your childcare account, the government adds £2, up to the annual limit.

Tax-Free Childcare can often be used alongside your funded hours, depending on your circumstances, so it’s well worth checking.

Need help applying?

Childcare funding can feel confusing. Our team is happy to check which funding your child may be eligible for, explain how funded hours work, guide you through applications and answer any questions about costs.

You can also check your eligibility on the official government site at childcarechoices.gov.uk.
